Melaka, known as the historical city of Malaysia, is a land of many sights and attractions. Only two hours away from Kuala Lumpur, this UNESCO World Heritage Site bears many significant historical sites, having being colonised by the Portuguese, Dutch and British from 1511 till 1945. The state is reachable via public transportation such as express bus services and taxis, through the PLUS highway.
With its status as one of the major tourist sites of the country, Melaka is charming with its own mix of Old World Heritage and modern complexities. With a slower pace of lifestyle compared to other major cities, sights such as people cycling to get to places and people drinking a cup of coffee at a renovated-Peranakan-house-turned-cafe are common, making it one of the most unique places in the country.
